Techniques Of Hair Restoration DE

By Douglas Sanders

Medical methods of restoring hairs and transplantation have been under research for years. It is estimated that approximately 90 percent of men do suffer from baldness at one point in their life. There is however variance based on either genetic or medical factors. In considering hair restoration DE residents ought to know what techniques are able to be used. Treatment options are grouped into surgical and non-surgical.

The non-surgical treatment options will require no actual transplantation and have been in use for many years in many forms. Most of these treatments are however ineffective in restoring hairs and waste money in most cases. In recent years however, two drugs have emerged that have proved to be effective and affordable. As a matter of fact, only two drugs are approved by the FDA which treat hair loss.

One of the drugs is finasteride. It is a prescription only drug that restores hair and is marketed as propecia. It is administered as a pill taken daily and leads to different degrees of regrowth over a number of months. It however should however not be used by women that are pregnant or those planning to get pregnant. This is because tit causes birth defects in the unborn. Women are not supposed to use Propecia or even handle it. It is able to be absorbed through skin.

The other option is Minoxidil. This option is available for use by men and women. It is marketed as Rogaine. It is a topical restoration treatment that gets applied on the scalp on a daily basis for promotion of hair growth. The results are varied but are realized in several months. Both of these options are easy to use and are effective in varying degrees. The disadvantage of the methods is that should their use be stopped, hair growth already achieved gets lost.

Over time, surgical methods are becoming more are more common. There are a number of surgical options individuals can consider. Hair transplant surgery is very common and is preferred by most people. It is not as invasive as compared to other techniques. It has excellent results in most patients that use it. After years of research, it has become easier to do and also safer.

As to which method is best for an individual, it will be dependent on a particular person. The decision on which treatment is the best will depend on proper diagnosis of what causes the loss. It will also depend on what one is willing to spend on treatment and the time they have.

Non-surgical techniques are easier to apply and are more discreet than surgical options. The medications are also easily available over the counter in the case of Rogaine. They are however not effective for everyone and will take slightly more time to see results, they will thus need patience.

The option of surgery is more costly and needs more effort from patients. The time taken for recovery will depend on method of treatment. The more invasive options take more time to heal. Also, they are not easy to hide.
