By James Peterson

Colonic are also referred to as colonic irrigation. Colonics CA is a procedure that is intended at removing wastes and dangerous toxins from the bowel. Despite being considered as a complementary therapy, there is no any medical evidence to prove that it is effective. However if it is done properly, the procedure has been reported to be having so many benefits. This article explains on how to effectively prepare for a colonic. A patient would want to be hydrated at the time this procedure will be carried out, therefore he is required to take a lot of water. It is advised to take approximately two liters of water and one and a half liters of herbal tea each day.

Thorough chewing of food is an important factor. This physical process helps to break down large particles of food into smaller particles, hence reducing stress on the esophagus and assists the stomach to metabolize food. This in turn will help food that is not digested to be accumulated into the colon. Therefore making it easier for the procedure to be carried out.

Thirdly, its advised to watch on the consumption of proteins. These are the animal based proteins such as meat, and eggs. These kind of foods contain high levels of acidity which might not go well with the effective well-being of the colon. Its advised to avoid these kind of foods before carrying out this procedure.

Exercises are important. Normally, they help to control blood glucose levels. Before performing colonic irrigation, a colonic therapist would advise his patient to do exercises, on the day of performing the process or the day before. This will help in motivating the procedure.

Drinking of vegetable juices that are freshly squeezed is highly recommended. A person looking forward for this procedure should at least have access to a juicer or should be located close to a juice bar. However some juices have been prohibited from consumption, since they produce acid in the body. An example is orange juice.

Eating plenty of vegetable, predominantly, green vegetables or salad greens. In fact, its ideal that vegetables should constitute fifty to seventy percent of ones meals in the days prior to undergoing colonic irrigation. Consuming a combination of raw vegetables, for instance in salads and vegetables that are slightly steamed might serve a better good. Fruits are also important in this case. But one should avoid fruits that are highly acidic since they may end up affecting the whole process and hence making it unsuccessful.

At the point a patient enters the therapy room, he or she should be less anxious and instead be exited to get started. The tranquil setting should be clean, there should be calming colors and soothing artwork that may seem to be embracing. This may become a retreat from daily duties and worries.

Lastly, the patient should talk openly to his colonic therapist so as to be in a better state of getting high utility. This is to raise ones concerns about the symptoms. This also keeps the therapist informed about his patient.
